Hi everyone,

 

So as most of you will know, our lovely husband and dad, Mitchell Furlong passed away a few months ago after a battle with pancreatic cancer. Mitchell was definitely too young to be taken from us, and he sadly missed out on a whole chapter of his life. Needless to say, we feel robbed as he did when his life came to an end. Pancreatic Cancer is an aggressive, under-funded and under-researched form of cancer and is devastating from the get-go with one of the lowest survival rates. There is currently only an 8.7% chance of surviving past five years of diagnosis and most patients only make it around a year or so after this diagnosis. Sadly, our dad and husband was one of those. After only around 18 months we lost Mitchell, but it was long before that we lost a sense of hope. 

 

We want to restore that sense of hope to those diagnosed with this nasty little cancer by advocating for more funded research, resources and treatments. So... on Sunday 26 May 2019 we will be taking up the challenge in Pancare’s Sydney Walk for Hope. The 26th of May is Mitchell's birthday, our first birthday without him, so it seemed fitting that we do this walk for him to remember and celebrate his life whilst raising some cash to help those who are going through the same crappy experience. 

 

With a replaced knee and a shattered ankle between us, the four of us will be limping to the finish line and would love your support. No! Not with wheelchairs or crutches, but with donations thank you!
